The Antimicrobial Resistance, Healthcare Epidemiology, and Antimicrobial Stewardship Research Collaborative (ARES) is committed to the conduct of high-impact collaborative research, training, and advocacy focused on the areas of antimicrobial resistance, healthcare epidemiology, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship with the primary goal of reducing infection-related morbidity and mortality.
We Strive To:
- Generate scientific knowledge to understand the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance and infection
- Translate scientific discoveries to inform, develop, test, and implement novel interventions and sustainable solutions
- Anticipate and respond rapidly to emerging infectious diseases threats to public health
- Foster complementary areas of innovative interdisciplinary research focus and methods
- Train and mentor future scientific leaders
- Educate the scientific community, policy makers, and the public
- Advocate broadly on issues related to core areas of ARES focus
- Develop and expand collaborations with public health entities at the local, regional, national, and international level
