Congrats to Jim Harrigan for his receipt of an IDWeek Trainee travel Award for IDWeek! This is to support his travel in presenting the abstract “Analysis of Prescribing Patterns for Respiratory Tract Illnesses Following the Conclusion of an Education and Feedback Intervention”. This was work done with Keith Hamilton and Lauren Dutcher and Kathleen Degnan

Congrats to Judith Anesi, the 2021 winner of the "Sandy Norman Award." This honor is presented to a member of the epidemiology or biostatistics faculty who has taught in the MSCE program and demonstrated exemplary teaching ability, skills, and commitment. This award is determined by a vote of the first year students enrolled in the MSCE program at the end of the first academic year.

Congrats to Jerry Jacob who received the “Above and Beyond” award from GSPP for efforts to keep patients and staff at GSPP safe during the pandemic. The award is intended to recognize those whose impact and efforts go well beyond their stated duties to further our mission in patient care. There were a few testimonials from GSPP leaders in the award presentation, one included below.

“I don’t think there are adequate words to convey gratefulness for your strong and steady leadership as we navigated the COVID pandemic.  Your calm demeanor, coupled with your astute knowledge of infectious disease calmed our fears, provided practical instruction and guidance when recommendations were changing sometimes on a daily basis.  Through your leadership, GSPP was able to traverse these most uncertain times in the best possible way.  We know you had many late nights and early mornings, loss of sleep and time with your family to support us through this. I cannot adequately thank you for the impact you have made.  Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication!  I am so honored to work with you”

Congrats Jerry!!
