Laurel Glaser, MD, PhD is the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and Director of Quality and Patient Safety for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She received her MD and PhD at Mount Sinai School of Medicine with work focused on pandemic influenza virus. She completed a pathology residency and microbiology fellowship at University of Pennsylvania before starting her current position. She is interested in novel methods for detection of antimicrobial resistance in the clinical laboratory, supporting testing for epidemiologic studies and novel therapeutics for Mycobacterial infections.
